Vatstats.net was intended to fill a void with the departure of a previous piece of software made to track flights on a virtual flight network called VATSIM. The aim here was to provide the most dense amount of information possible without cluttering the user interface too much – the task was to keep it as functional as possible whilst keeping it accessible as well.
Ultimately we worked closely with the Bootstrap framework, Node.js and various graphing APIs to display information in a clean fashion that could be easily digested by regular users. As of writing Vatstats gets about 1000 unique visitors per day and is tracking 350,000 separate flights.
Some additional work was done on the Vatstats logo as well. See the following portfolio entry.
